Summer is more than 1/2 over!

Hey there,

We are a little more than 1/2 done with the summer and looks like we finally got some sun. I hope you are all still doing well. I just checked to see if your schedules are available and it doesn't look like they have them on studentvue yet for you to view. I was able to get in to see some of them through the back door I have. As of right now we have 17 in our Academic Skills with six freshman and you all will have to help me train them in the ways of Murphy. I will be looking to my sophomores and upper classmen to help me out and give some often needed advice to our up and coming. Keep an eye on the Wheaton North site because they should have information coming up about when to pick up your schedules and your books. I will be there for the Junior textbook and schedules from 8:30 -10:30am on Wednesday August 5th. I will also be in off and on the following week. Let me know when you are going to stop by and I'll try and come in to see you.

Summer continues

Well it is our third week of summer and I don't know about you, but I am tired of the rain! I have already read two books and am working on a third. I need a beach somewhere. If anyone can bring me back some sand, I would love it! I hope everyone is having a good summer so far. I signed up to work the Junior textbook day in August, but will probably be in the school before then. Let me know how you are all doing.

Avon 39 mile walk

Well I did it. Maybe I should say we did it! My team including Mrs. Biggs, guidance counselor at Wheaton North, walked 39 miles this weekend during the Avon Breast Cancer walk which in total raised 4.9 million dollars. What a great event with great people.

Hey there,

Austin figured out that in order for you to be able to post on the blog, you will need to email me at my school email address so I can capture your email address. Then I will add you as an author and you can also post on this blog. Since I am the administrator, please make this school appropriate. Let's have some fun!

Happy Memorial Day!

It is Memorial Day and this is my first post for the upcoming summer break. I have been blessed with a great group of young people in my classes this school year and will miss them all this summer. The above picture was taken in Uganda last summer on a bridge over the Nile river. I was in Africa with my two youngest sons, on the left, Andy, and the right, Sean for two weeks. We worked with three schools and a remand school, which is a youth reformatory and this was our last summer working directly with Tooro High School because after working with them for approximately 4 years, they are now 70 % self sustaining which was the goal of my son, a day's non profit,  Pangea. Read more about them at pangeaeducation.org. Well I'm looking forward to any comments or information you would like to share this summer. Have a great break!
